On Wednesday, August 17, Adele canceled her show scheduled that night in Phoenix, Arizona. The singer made the announcement by posting an emotional video on her social media.
“I’ve had a cold for a couple days, and I’ve been pushing through it and I did my show last night and I loved it, but I pushed too hard. And my cold has gotten the better of me.”
The British singer started her tour in February, and since then, she’s visited several countries, such as the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and more.
Her North American leg of the tour started in July and she had shows scheduled in Phoenix, Arizona for both the 16th and 17th of August. Her tour has her busy until November of this year, where her last stop is in Mexico. With months of performing, getting sick was inevitable.
The video shows Adele without makeup, extending her deepest apologies to her fans.
“I’m so sorry to let you down. I know lots of people would be flying in, from all over. It’s the last thing I want to do, but I have to look after myself because I’ve got so many more shows to do.”
Adele then promised to reschedule her concert at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix for another date.
